Mission Statement

The mission of Northwest Arkansas Save Our Strays is to provide the best permanent homes possible for the abused, abandoned and retired dogs in our care or the care of the Rogers Animal Shelter. We do this by publicizing our efforts, organizing pet-adoption days and through networking within our neighborhood and with friends. We believe in educating the public and the leaders of our communities on the necessity of spaying and neutering our pets and the need for responsible pet ownership. We wish to eliminate the euthanasia of any healthy, adoptable dog in Benton County and northwest Arkansas.  We do not recognize or accept euthanasia as a means of population control for dogs.

Goals:

• To educate pet owners on the importance of spaying and neutering for both population control and the health of their animals.

• To have pet owners understand the importance of having a collar and tag on their pets for identification purposes.

To make citizens aware that the Bentonville Animal Shelter has merged w/ Rogers so any dog or cat picked up in Bentonville will be found at the Rogers Shelter.  Phone number 621-1197

• To encourage people to adopt from the Rogers Animal Shelter and other local rescue groups.
